Medical Records and Advertisments

Would you like your doctors receiving advertisements while viewing your medical records? What about advertisements geared specifically to what type of records they were studying? Scared? Maybe you should be.

San Francisco startup Practice Fusion is offering organizational software for doctors and medical professionals in exchange for being able to stream ads tailored to their patient's files, hoping the new medium will perform better than ads in traditional media.

Google and Microsoft are getting into the act as well, and promise free programs with no advertisement at startup, with the possibility of their addition in the future.

Shouldn't the doctors not be distracted while reviewing your latest CT scan? One would only hope so.

Facebook going corporate

Mark Zukerberg is taking his company to the next level this week with the hiring of former Google executive Sheryl Sandberg as chief operating officer. Sanberg will take over the day-to-day operations of the company while Zukerberg will retain the top position. While she will work closely with Zukerberg, Sandberg will be tasked with overseas expansion and creating an advertisement network to justify the company's inflated value.

Will this be the end to facebook, or a new beginning?
